RJD rejects claims of ‘hidden treasure’ at Rabri bungalow
Patna: The tussle over vacating the 10, Circular Road bungalow allotted to former CM Rabri Devi escalated further on Saturday with the RJD hitting out at its opponents for creating a controversy around the issue.
Party spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav lashed out at his opponents, accusing them of stooping low. He also challenged those raising questions about alleged treasure inside the bungalow to abandon politics if nothing was found.
Earlier, a JD(U) MLC apprehended that there could be a “tahkhana” beneath the bungalow, which he claimed might contain papers related to land, ornaments and wealth in other forms. He also raised questions over the bungalow being vacated at night and plants being replaced, describing them as govt property.
“All these are being done in the absence of Rabri ji,” he said.
“They have so much love for this bungalow that I feel there must be a treasure with land deeds, gold and silver. I will myself go and see, and if need be, drones will be roped in, and via a scientific method, the inspection will be done,” he said.
Yadav challenged the allegations and said those making such claims should quit politics if nothing was found. “They should fix a time and date and get the inspection done. If nothing is found, then they should leave politics,” he said.
He also criticised opponents for interfering in the personal lives of the first RJD family, particularly Lalu and Rabri, both former chief ministers of Bihar.
“Several people know they can make their political career shine by defaming Lalu Ji. People are also worried as to whether Lalu Ji and Rabri Ji will shift to a private or a govt residence. The plants bought from a nursery are being discussed. It is not good to discuss someone’s personal life,” Yadav added.
