Navi Mumbai: Police official films reel in car with child at steering wheel; case registered

A police sub-inspector in Navi Mumbai is facing legal trouble after a video surfaced showing him driving with a child on his lap. The video, posted on WhatsApp, shows the child holding the steering wheel while the officer changes gears and neglects to wear a seatbelt. An offence has been registered against the PSI under the Motor Vehicle Act.

NAVI MUMBAI: A police sub-inspector attached to Nerul police station posted on his WhatsApp update a video reel of driving a car with a child sitting on his lap and holding the steering wheel. The video clip that went viral on social media on Thursday shows that the cop is not even wearing a seat belt while driving and at times he is not even holding the steering wheel to support the child. He is seen changing gears while the child is holding the steering wheel. The PSI has been identified as Bipin Tuturwad. Brahmanand Naikwadi, senior inspector of Nerul, said, "The incident happened last month in Ulwe as the PSI resides there. Then an offence has been registered at local police station against him under Motor Vehicle Act."
