Amravati: After being nominated to Maharashtra legislative council from deputy chief minister
Eknath Shinde's
Shiv Sena, Bacchu Kadu on Thursday said he would not rest until Eknath Shinde is made chief minister. Kadu's remarks during his welcome rally has sparked widespread discussion in political circles.
Speaking to the media during ‘Janata Darbar' at his residence in Kural Purna, where he heard various grievances from the public, Kadu said, "As a Shiv Sainik, I will dream of Eknath Shinde becoming chief minister. On the other hand, BJP workers will naturally think that
Devendra Fadnavis should remain chief minister. How can I think about Devendra Fadnavis? For me, it will always be Shinde. Everyone has to think about their own party. This is a competition. Every party works to expand itself. We can certainly think about interests of our party. There's nothing wrong with that."
Seeking to defuse the controversy, Kadu said, "Even though Shiv Sena and BJP are in power together as Mahayuti, we will obviously think about how we can get more of our MLAs elected. There's nothing wrong in that. Everyone has the right to express their stand."
"Will BJP leaders say they will make Shinde the chief minister? They cannot say that. And if we say we will make Shinde CM, there is no reason for BJP leaders to feel offended. I only voiced what is in my heart," he said.
Clarifying that he was not demanding immediate leadership change in the state, Kadu said, "We are not saying that Devendra Fadnavis should be removed right now and Eknath Shinde should replace him. This is about the future."
