Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will undertake a citywide
cleanliness drive in public parks on Monday as part of its Environment Conservation Fortnight.
The initiative aims to improve the condition of parks and encourage greater public participation in maintaining community spaces. Civic officials said several parks have been affected by littering, damaged infrastructure and inadequate upkeep, necessitating focused clean-up efforts.
The campaign is being conducted under the guidance of mayor Neeta Thakre and municipal commissioner Vipin Itankar.
Residents, environmental groups, NGOs, senior citizens, youth organisations, and students have been invited to join the drive.
Appealing for widespread participation, Thakre urged citizens to take collective responsibility for preserving parks and ensuring they remain clean and welcoming for all.
