NMC rolls out pre-monsoon pothole repair drive across 10 zones
Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has drawn up a citywide schedule for pothole repairs ahead of the monsoon, covering all 10 civic zones between May 21 and June 5.As per a circular issued by the Hot Mix Plant Department, two dedicated teams will carry out pre-monsoon repairs on a rotational basis to reduce waterlogging, road damage, and traffic risks during the rainy season.Repair work has been assigned zone-wise across the week. Laxmi Nagar and Mangalwari zones will be covered on Mondays; Gandhibagh and Dharampeth on Tuesdays; and Nehrunagar and Lakadganj on Thursdays. Hanuman Nagar and Sataranjipura are scheduled for Fridays, while Dhantoli and Ashi Nagar will be taken up on Saturdays. Wednesdays are reserved for hot mix plant maintenance, and Sundays will remain weekly off.Executive and deputy engineers have been directed to identify priority stretches and ensure sites are cleared before teams arrive, failing which teams may be diverted to other zones.Deputy engineer Abhijit Bhure (9923240404) and junior engineer Manohar Rathod (9881585154) have been appointed coordinators for the drive. Officials have also been instructed to upload daily photographs of repairs and submit weekly progress reports to senior authorities.
