2 killed in hit-and-run in Chimur

Chandrapur: Two men were killed on the spot after an unidentified vehicle rammed their motorcycle near Asola bus stop on Bhisi-Shankarpur state highway in Chimur taluka on Monday morning.The victims, identified as Vikas Jambhule (37) of Titvi and Amol Nannaware (30) of Shegaon Khurd, were returning from Vikas village in Irva with wheat and other grains when the speeding vehicle struck them around 8.30am.The impact of the collision was such that both riders were flung nearly 25 feet off the road, causing fatal head and leg injuries. Police from Shankarpur outpost under Bhisi police station reached the spot, conducted preliminary investigations, and registered a case against the unidentified driver.
