Nagpur: NMC standing committee chairperson Shivani Dani Wakhare and corporator Sheshrao Gotmare on Monday assumed charge as trustees of the Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT).
Mayor Neeta Thakre and district collector-cum-NIT in-charge chairman Kumar Ashirwad welcomed the duo at a brief ceremony at the NIT office.
Wakhare thanked the party leadership for entrusting her with the responsibility and said she would work to justify the faith reposed in her. She outlined key priorities, including resolving issues related to Gond Raja Samadhi, Deekshabhoomi development, unauthorised layouts, and other pending projects.
Gotmare also expressed gratitude to the leadership and said he would discharge his duties with commitment. He identified unauthorised layouts and other pending matters as priority areas.
Deputy mayor Leela Hathibed, leader of the house Narendra Borkar, former legislators Anil Sole and Milind Mane, former mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, and several committee chairpersons and corporators were present. A large number of BJP workers attended the ceremony.
