A firm completion target of February 2027 has been fixed, with work being fast-tracked on the 7.35 km connector linking Atal Setu to the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, aiming to create a seamless, signal-free travel corridor.

The connector spans 7.35 km, bridging a critical gap between Atal Setu and the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, forming an essential part of the Mumbai 3.0 growth corridor.

The project includes a 4.6 km Chirle elevated corridor and a 2.75 km stretch from Palaspe to the Expressway, ensuring continuous connectivity across major junctions.

Construction has crossed the halfway mark, with 55% of the work completed. Execution is progressing across multiple locations simultaneously to meet the set deadline.

Out of 176 foundations, 143 are complete, along with piers at 141 locations. Additionally, 88 pier caps have been completed, marking steady advancement in core structural development.

A total of 653 out of 830 precast girders have been launched, indicating significant progress in superstructure work for the elevated and connecting sections.

Work on slip roads and service road widening at Palaspe is ongoing, alongside parallel construction activities across different stretches of the project.

The connector is expected to reduce travel time between Mumbai and Pune by up to 90 minutes while enabling smooth traffic dispersal from Atal Setu and easing congestion at key junctions.
