Maharashtra News: Whatever happened is painful, says Supriya Sule
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)'s senior leader Ajit Pawar on Sunday joined Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra and took oath as the deputy chief minister of the state.
In a dramatic turn of events, Pawar, along with nine MLAs, reached Raj Bhawan to meet Governor Ramesh Bais.
Elections to the 288-member state assembly are due next year. The political development comes a year after a revolt led by Shinde against the Shiv Sena (then undivided) led to the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. On June 30, 2022, Shinde was sworn in as the CM with BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis as the deputy CM. Stay with TOI for all updates:

I am not worried about whatever happened today, says NCP supremo Sharad Pawar
I am receiving several calls from a lot of people, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and others have called me. I am not worried about whatever happened today. Tomorrow, I will take the blessings of YB Chavan (former Maharashtra CM) and will hold a public meeting, said NCP chief Sharad Pawar.

Some of my colleagues have taken a different stand. I had called a meeting of all the leaders on July 6 where some important issue was to be discussed and some changes were to be made within the party but before that meeting, some of the leaders have taken a different stand.

In a political earthquake of sorts NCP leader and leader of opposition in Maharashtra assembly Ajit Pawar on Sunday took oath as deputy chief minister along with nine NCP MLAs. Ajit resigned as LoP early on Sunday morning after a meeting with NCP MLAs. The nine other NCP MLAs who took oath along with Ajit are Chagan Bhujbal, Dilip Walse-Patil, Hasan Mushriff, Dhananjay Munde, Dharmaraj Atram, Aditi Tatkare, Sanjay Bansode and Anil Patil.
