Major reshuffle in Maharashtra police as state govt transfers 26 officers
Mumbai: IPS officer Anil Kumbhare will head the city crime branch, replacing Lakhmi Gautam, who will now be the inspector general of police (law and order) with the state police.The govt on Friday transferred 26 officers across the state. IPS officer Deepak Sakore was promoted as a joint commissioner of police in Navi Mumbai.Satya Narayan Chaudhary, joint commissioner of police (law and order), who was in charge of the city police stations, has been shifted to the traffic department in place of Kumbhare.Senior IPS officer Manoj Sharma, on whose life Hindi movie ‘12th Fail’ was made, has replaced Chaudhary. IPS officer Mohammed Suvez Haque, who earlier served in the CBI, will be joint commissioner (administration). He replaces S Jayakumar, who has been posted to Force One.Datta Karale, special inspector general of police, Nashik range, has been shifted to the State Human Rights Commission. Additional commissioner of police (east region) Mahesh Patil has been promoted and transferred as special IG (planning and coordination), while Paramjit Dahiya, additional commissioner of police of the west region, has been promoted and posted as special IG in the anti-terrorism squad (ATS).
Rajesh Pradhan, IPS officer of 2004 batch who was awaiting posting, has now been appointed in the economic offences wing (EOW), replacing Nishit Mishra. Mishra has been transferred as special IG (training) at the state police headquarters.
