Mangaluru: Ullal police have registered a case against two women for allegedly obtaining and using a fake passport.
According to a complaint filed by police inspector Gopalakrishna Bhat B, CSB Mangaluru City, on May 8, police received information that a woman had travelled abroad using a passport issued in the name of Yashodha Keshav of Ullal Bail.
An inquiry found that the name and address in the passport application did not match the applicant’s photograph, which was identified as that of Preetha D’Souza. Verification of records on the Passport Seva Portal showed that while the declaration form carried the handwritten name ‘Yashodha Keshav’, the photograph was of Preetha. The signature in Yashodha’s name was also allegedly signed by Preetha.
Police said Preetha allegedly used Yashodha’s address and documents, obtained the passport illegally, and travelled abroad through Mumbai airport on March 17, 2025.
The complaint also alleged that Prem D’Souza facilitated her travel to Israel using the same documents. A case has been registered at the Ullal police station.
