Tamil Nadu shocker: 17-year-old hacked to death near Meenakshi temple in Madurai

MADURAI: A 17-year-old boy was hacked to death near the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai during the early hours of Monday.The deceased was identified as Gubendran, 17, of North Masi Street.Police sources said that at around 4.00 am a five-member gang deliberately hacked the boy to death and fled near the parking complex of the Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple in the city.On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to Govt Rajaji Hospital for autopsy. Forensic experts arrived at the scene and collected evidence. A case was registered by Vilakkuthoon Police, and further investigation is underway.Preliminary investigation revealed that there was a previous enmity between the gang and the boy.
