Kolkata: The junior school annual concert of Mangalam Vidya Niketan, called ‘Wings of Fantasy,' was celebrated on Aug 19 at the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Salt Lake.
The event was a vibrant showcase of talent, creativity, and youthful energy. The programme began with a warm welcome to the chief guest, writer and actor Debashis Roy Choudhary, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the chief guest alongside the school's dignitaries. A soulful Lakshmi stotram and an energetic Ganesh Vandana set an auspicious tone for the performances.
Principal Jayati Mukherjee and headmistress Debjani Mukherjee inspired the young performers as the pre-primary students captivated the audience with festival-themed dances celebrating India's rich cultural heritage. Academic excellence was honoured through the felicitation of the highest scorers in the ICSE and ISC 2024-25 science and commerce streams.
The concert's highlights included a graceful Kathak dance by senior students and a powerful drama, ‘Call of the Mountains', which explored themes of nature and emotional growth. Vice-principal Jaya Pradhan delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the dedication of teachers, students, parents, and staff.
