Kolkata: The city remained cloudy and humid on Monday even as the maximum temperature clocked 34°C. While the cloud cover kept the heat away, the weather could remain unchanged till at least Wednesday, though chances of rain were low, said the Met office.
"Since there is no major system in the region now, the city and south Bengal will not receive any heavy spell of rain. Clouds will persist, though. It will keep the maximum temperature around 34°C for the next 48 hours and the minimum around 25°C," said deputy director-general of meteorology H R Biswas.
"A low-pressure area is developing over the Bay of Bengal, but it will not impact south Bengal or Kolkata. North Bengal will continue to receive heavy showers," added Biswas. tnn
