2 dead in accidents across city

Kolkata: Two persons were killed and one was critically injured in accidents across the city since Sunday.A little after noon on Monday, app bike passenger Sathi Dutta (22) was killed on Deshpran Sashmal Road close to MR Bangur Hospital. She was on her way to office, said cops. The victim was riding pillion when the rider tried to overtake a bus that stopped in the middle of the road to drop a passenger. As it crossed it, the bike was hit on the left by a heavy goods vehicle moving in the same direction. As the rider fell on the left, Sathi fell to the right. Despite wearing a helmet, she sustained fatal head injuries when the truck tyre went over her face. She was declared dead on arrival at the MR Bangur Hospital.On Sunday around 11.45 pm, a motorcycle and a scooter collided head-on in the middle of the Garden Reach flyover. The motorcyclist, Azmat Ali, and his pillion rider, Md Sharukh were severely injured in the impact. Ali was later declared dead.
