CM vows help for kin of 321 slain BJP workers
Kolkata: CM Suvendu Adhikari on Monday said his govt's top priority was delivering justice for families of 321 BJP workers killed in political violence.Addressing reporters at Nabanna after his maiden cabinet meeting, Adhikari said, "We remember with deep respect the ultimate sacrifice of those 321 party workers, through whose martyrdom this govt is established." The CM added that the administration had taken responsibility for "social and welfare needs" of the bereaved families.BJP also put up a temporary memorial beside the oath-taking stage for the council of ministers, displaying the names and districts of the "martyrs" allegedly killed after the 2021 assembly elections.PM Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah paid tribute to the fallen cadres. PM Modi shared images of the memorial on X, saying the "courageous Karyakartas" would remain etched in the party's journey. Shah said the that the struggle of those "noble souls" had finally found fulfilment.State BJP president and MP Samik Bhattacharya claimed more than 300 workers were killed by "TMC goons".
