Youth held for molesting actor

Kochi: Palarivattom police arrested a youth for allegedly misbehaving with an actor near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kaloor, Kochi, on Friday.The arrested person has been identified as Vibin Roy (39) of Kathrikadavu, Kochi. According to a police officer, the accused was a fan of the actor involved and maintained a fan account on Instagram. He used to chat with her using the account. "He mistook the responses to be a sign of personal attachment and thought that she liked him. She blocked him on Instagram after feeling that the talks were crossing limits. He later tried to chat using another account as well," said an officer. The officer added that the woman went to a tattoo studio in Kaloor on Thursday and Roy tried to meet her. "The woman has filed a complaint alleging that the accused touched her inappropriately. Hence, an FIR has been lodged for outraging the modesty of a woman. He was presented in court on Saturday and the court granted him bail," said the officer. Roy was arrested from his house on Friday. Police said that he was an MBA holder and worked with an IT firm in Kochi.
