Church dedicated to Saint Carlo Acutis, God's influencer, blessed in Kochi on day of canonisation

Kochi: A new church dedicated to Saint Carlo Acutis, widely known as ‘God's Influencer', was blessed at Pallikkara, Kakkanad, under the Varapuzha Archdiocese on Sunday. The blessing was led by Archbishop Joseph Kalathiparambil.The church is among the first in the world to be named after Saint Carlo, a millennial who became a global role model for young Catholics through his deep Eucharistic devotion and innovative use of technology for evangelisation. The blessing occurred on the same day as Pope Leo XIV declared him a saint. He is the first millennial saint of the Catholic Church. Saint Carlo is also known as the ‘saint in sneakers' and is touted as the patron saint of the internet for his work. Vicar generals Monsignor Mathew Kallingal, Monsignor Mathew Elanjimittam, chancellor Fr Abijin Arackal, Fr Sojan Maliackal, parish vicar Fr Rocky Kollamparambil, and Ferona Vicar Fr Patrick Elavunkal were present at the blessing ceremony.
