Appeal for happy, peaceful celebration of Bakrid

Kanpur: A seminar was organised on Tuesday in Bajaria police station area, ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) festival. Participants appealed for the festival to be celebrated in an atmosphere of mutual harmony, brotherhood and peace. Instructions were issued to perform qurbani (sacrifice) only at designated locations and to pay special attention to cleanliness and hygiene. Participants appealed to people not to share misleading or objectionable posts on social media and not to pay heed to rumours. They also appealed for immediate information to be given to the local police about any suspicious activity or dispute.Prominent individuals and Peace Committee members from Chamanganj, Bajaria and Sisamau police stations participated in the seminar chaired by DCP (Central) Atul Kumar Srivastava.
