Jaipur: Rajasthan qualified for the quarterfinal of the Cooch Behar U-19 Trophy after their four-day Elite match ended in a draw at the Solitaire Cricket Ground in Saharanpur on Saturday.
Rajasthan were quite close to register an outright win but Uttar Pradesh managed to draw the match as they ended up with 166 for 7 in their second innings.
Rajasthan medium-pacer Honey Pratap Singh (4-27) and left-arm spinner Jatin Saini (3-45) tried hard to force the win but UP tailenders prevented an outright defeat.
After bundling out UP for 178 in their first essay, Rajasthan amassed 494 for 9 before declaring to take a huge 316-run lead.
Naved Khan (183: 228b, 18x4, 8x6) and Rajat Baghel (171: 200b, 19x4, 9x6) were the bulk of the scorers. They added 188 runs for the fifth wicket to help Rajasthan gain a huge lead. Naved was adjudged player-of-the-match.
