Jaipur: A newlywed couple from Jaipur narrowly escaped the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu & Kahsmir Tuesday. Mihir Soni, 26, and his wife Komal Soni, 25, residents of Murlipura, were at the Baisaran meadow, where the killings took place, when gunshots rang out, but were fortunate that they were near the exit gate.
The couple were seated near a snack shop after buying bhelpuri when the gunfire began. "We were close to one of the exit gates. As soon as the gunshots started and we saw people being shot at, we ran as fast as we could," Mihir told TOI. "We were barely a few metres from the gate. We were lucky to escape."
Mihir described the moment as terrifying. "As we fled, all we could hear in the background were gunshots. It was chaos. We didn't look back."
The couple managed to find a pony and rode away from the area to safety. tnn
