CM cracks down on negligence in Banswara, two officials placed under APO
Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Thursday expressed dissatisfaction over the functioning of Banswara Nagar Parishad commissioner Durgesh Singh Rawal, following which the local self-govt department issued orders placing the officer under awaiting posting order (APO).The action came during the chief minister’s review meetings and field visits on the second day of his three-day tour of Banswara and Dungarpur districts.Earlier during his visit to Churada village in Banswara, taking cognisance of complaints regarding alleged financial irregularities, Sharma directed the medical department to place under APO Kushalgarh Block Chief Medical Officer Dr. Girish Bhabhore.At the Banswara district collectorate auditorium, Sharma conducted a detailed review meeting with district-level officers regarding the progress of various schemes, programmes, campaigns and innovations. He sought category-wise and area-wise details of achievements and directed officials to accelerate implementation of welfare schemes.The CM directed officers to undertake regular field visits, take suo motu cognisance of local problems and ensure swift resolution. Sharma further ordered strict action against those involved in illegal religious conversion and against govt employees found participating in political activities.
During his visit to Churada village in Banswara, the CM held a chaupal under a peepal tree and heard public grievances. The CM approved essential development initiatives, including funding for a Maa Badi centre, tubewell construction and temple beautification, while also ordering improvements in classrooms, irrigation facilities and a new milk collection centre to enhance the region’s infrastructure. He also directed the district collector to construct an anicut on the Hiran River for irrigation and drinking water purposes.During the visit, Sharma also instructed officials to transfer assistant engineer Hemendra Kumar Kalal from Sagwara to Banswara on humanitarian grounds after his wife informed him about their son suffering from cerebral palsy. During a district-level meeting in Dungarpur, he said a detailed action plan should be prepared to promote processing units there, so that farmers could get good income and youth can get employment at the local level.Later, while addressing a Civic Felicitation and Cleanliness Message Programme in Dungarpur, the CM announced that Dungarpur and Banswara would be developed as tourist destinations.
