Hyderabad:
Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao travelled by Metro from Tarnaka to Jubilee Hills on Friday to attend a programme, in a show of support for the austerity measures initiated by Prime Minister
Narendra Modi. As part of these measures, BJP leaders are implementing the ‘seven sutras’ aimed at promoting economic self-reliance and reducing fuel consumption.
By using public transport, Rao highlighted his commitment to fuel conservation and cost efficiency. During the journey, he interacted with passengers and encouraged them to follow the PM’s guidelines on self-reliance.
The initiative is intended to promote fuel conservation, environmental protection and greater use of public transport. In a related move, Telangana governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has directed a 50% reduction in vehicle usage at Raj Bhavan.
