Kalaburagi: The Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB), in coordination with the Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC), has launched a major project aimed at boosting industrial activity in Kalaburagi and Yadgir districts of the Kalyana Karnataka region.
Addressing mediapersons here on Saturday, KKRDB chairman Dr Ajay Singh said that new industrial estates spanning 210.5 acres will be developed in the two districts at a total cost of Rs 200 crore. "A new industrial estate will be developed over 62.5 acres near Nandur-K in Kalaburagi district at a cost of Rs 61.2 crore. The project cost will be shared equally by KKRDB and KSSIDC, with each providing 50% of the grant," he said.
In Yadgir taluk, an industrial estate is being developed over 100 acres at a cost of Rs 96.2 crore. Another industrial estate is coming up in Shahapur taluk, where Rs 42.5 crore is being spent to develop 48 acres near Halisagar village.
Dr Singh said KKRDB will bear Rs 100 crore of the total development cost, while KSSIDC will contribute the remaining Rs 100 crore. He added that the grants have been earmarked for development works during 2025–26.
He further stated that the allotment of industrial plots, land and grants would be carried out separately for general category, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, in accordance with government norms. Transparency guidelines will be strictly followed during plot allotment, he assured.
