Nadda chairs meet in Shillong to improve child health policies
Shillong: Union minister of health and family welfare JP Nadda chaired a parliamentary consultative committee in Shillong on Friday to discuss ways to improve various aspects of child health policies in India.Minister of state for health and family welfare Anupriya Patel and several Lok Sabha members also attended the meeting, which focused on various matters related to child health programmes in the country.The members also visited NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, and took an overview of the infrastructure and functioning of the hospital along with special focus on child health care services offered at the institution.“The members visited the paediatric OPD & ward and interacted with patients and were satisfied with the services and health care delivery offered for the paediatric cases at NEIGRIHMS,” an official statement said.Director of NEIGRIHMS Prof. Nalin Mehta said the overall meeting and visit of Nadda was successful. “The initiative by the ministry of health and family welfare will definitely improve child health care across India and NEIGRIHMS is committed to be part of this initiative as a tertiary health care Institute in the region,” Mehta said.
