‘Hindi Fortnight’ celebrations begin at the NE Frontier HQs in Itanagar

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) NE Frontier HQs in Itanagar commenced its 'Hindi Fortnight' celebrations on Monday, inaugurated by Inspector General Amitabh Gupta. The initiative aims to promote the government's official language policy in daily operations. Gupta highlighted the importance of linguistic harmony and training, emphasizing Hindi as a common medium for effective communication among ITBP personnel from diverse regions.

Itanagar: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) NE Frontier inspector general Amitabh Gupta on Monday inaugurated the ‘Hindi Fortnight’ celebrations at the NE Frontier HQs in Itanagar.Through the celebrations, the ITBP aims to effectively implement the govt’s official language policy in day-to-day official work.Addressing ITBP personnel, Gupta emphasised that the foundation of the official language policy lay in motivation, encouragement, linguistic harmony and training. He noted that as ITBP personnel are drawn from across the country, respecting different languages is essential, but Hindi as an official language provides a common medium for effective functioning. Gupta stressed that observances like ‘Hindi Fortnight’ foster a congenial atmosphere for using Hindi in daily official work voluntarily.The ‘Hindi Fortnight’ programme, scheduled from Sept 15 to 29, will feature seven competitions to encourage wider participation among Himveers.
