The Supreme Court’s ruling on the Waqf Amendment Act has set off a political face-off. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju welcomed the judgment, calling it a validation of Parliament’s authority and a boost for democracy. BJP MP Jagdambika Pal also hailed it as proof of the law’s legitimacy, while Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said reforms are meant to protect faith and end disorder. On the other side, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi accused the government of sidelining Muslims in Waqf institutions, terming it a violation of Article 26. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav urged non-interference in Waqf, while Congress MP Tariq Anwar reserved comment until the full verdict is studied.
