Man tries to break in posing as water purifier mechanic

New Delhi: Posing as a water purifier mechanic, a man allegedly tried to break into multiple houses in northwest Delhi. Police have registered a case.

The unidentified man is suspected to be linked to several incidents of attempted assault and robbery in Keshav Puram and Pitampura, residents claimed.

In CCTV footage, the man was seen wearing a cap and carrying a blue bag, arguing with a resident outside a house gate in an apparent attempt to gain entry before moving to another house.

The audio captures an exchange of abuses, after which the man is seen fleeing on a two-wheeler while holding a sharp weapon. The footage is dated May 8.
