UTTARKASHI: The Shri Gangotri Temple Committee has taken an important decision to maintain the religious sanctity and traditions of Gangotri Dham, deciding to ban the entry of non-Hindus into the shrine.The decision will be applicable not only at Gangotri Dham but also at Mukhba, the winter abode of Goddess Ganga.

Providing details on Saturday, Temple Committee President Suresh Semwal said that the committee will ensure that non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the temple premises, Ganga Ghat, and surrounding religious areas. He said that this step has been taken to protect the sanctity and religious traditions of Gangotri Dham.Semwal added, The temple committee will implement local monitoring and arrangements to ensure strict adherence to the rules. The committee stated that there will be no compromise on the religious faith and traditions of the Dham.
