Dhami marks 1-yr of Op Sindoor, praises Army’s courage

Dehradun: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Doon Sainik Institute, Dehradun, on Monday to celebrate the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, hailing the Indian Army’s strategic precision, highlighting how the 22-minute strike on May 7 successfully neutralised terrorist camps in Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack.Dhami highlighted India’s growing influence on the world stage and issued a stern warning to domestic critics who doubt the military’s courage, even as the international community recognises the nation’s strength. On the govt’s response during the crisis, Dhami said PM Modi convened a meeting of all CMs when tensions escalated.Speaking at the event, Dhami recalled the Pahalgam attack in J&K, calling it an incident that shook not just the nation but the entire world, adding that Pakistan and global community had acknowledged India’s military capability.The CM highlighted India’s growing defence capability, noting that the Indian Army is now self-reliant and exports defence equipment to more than 80 countries. On the Centre’s initiatives, he credited PM Modi for key decisions benefiting soldiers, including One Rank One Pension, construction of the National War Memorial, a higher defence budget, and stronger border infrastructure.Dhami further said that the state govt has raised the compensation for martyrs’ families by five times, and “one family member of a martyr will now be given a govt job, with application window extended from two to five years”.Ex-servicemen can also travel free on govt buses and get a 25% stamp duty discount on property purchases up to Rs 25 lakh, he added.
