Five transferred inspectors await fresh deployment
Chennai: Five inspectors of police, who had earlier served in stations under Kolathur and Harbour police sub-divisions and were shifted before the Model Code of Conduct came into effect duringelections, were transferred fromtheir present positions on Wednesday. The transferred officers S Ramesh of Otteri, G S Pushparaj of Meenambakkam, I Khader Meera of Madhavaram, and A Kannaki of Vanagaram from the law and order wing, along with T Kirubanithi of the Maduravoyal from crime wing, have been kept without posting. On Tuesday, Greater Chennai Police Commissioner Abhin Dinesh Modak transferred five inspectors of police and directed them to report to the Vacant Reserve of the Greater Chennai Police with immediate effect. The order directed the officers to report to the Vacant Reserve wing pending fresh postings. Transfer order copies were forwarded to the additional commissioners of police handling law and order, traffic, headquarters and central crime branch wings, besides joint commissioners and deputy commissioners of police in various city zones and administrative divisions.
