Senior AAP leaders attend launch of Doaba Zone of Sanatan Seva Samiti
Jalandhar: Senior AAP leaders, including minister Mohinder Bhagat, attended the launch of the Doaba Zone of the Sanatan Seva Samiti here on Saturday. During the event, held at the Red Cross Bhawan, appointment letters were distributed to the office bearers of district Jalandhar. Assuring all possible support from the Punjab govt to the Samiti, the minister also praised the efforts being made by the organisation for the service of Sanatan.Punjab's department of tourism and cultural affairs advisor Deepak Bali, mayor Vineet Dhir, and Jalandhar central constituency in-charge Nitin Kohli also addressed the event. They praised the organisation and extended their support to its work. Samiti's national president Vijay Sharma, Doaba Zone In-charge Pavinder Behl, and other office bearers welcomed the minister and other guests.
The Punjab chapter of the Sanatan Seva Samiti, whose formation was announced by the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi in January this year ahead of the assembly elections there with much fanfare, was launched on Aug 6. Senior AAP leaders, including state president Aman Arora and minister Barinder Goyal, attended the inaugural function held in Mohali on August 6. Representatives of Hindu religious organisations from different places in Punjab were present on the occasion, and certain issues of the community were discussed at the inaugural event.The event of its launching in Delhi was attended by AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders, including Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and Saurabh Bharadwaj. On Jan 10, AAP's Delhi state convener Gopal Rai announced its office bearers, and party spokesperson Ghanendra Bhardwaj was appointed its state in-charge, while Vijay Sharma was named the state president.
