Maur blast: Randhawa slams Mann, Sandhwan for failing to deliver justice
Chandigarh: Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, the Congress MP from Gurdaspur and former deputy chief minister of Punjab, slammed chief minister Bhagwant Mann and Vidhan Sabha speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Sunday for failing to deliver justice in the Maur Mandi blast case even after four and a half years.Randhawa said both Mann and Sandhwan had promised justice to the Maur blast victims and claimed they would ensure the arrest of the accused. In a written statement, Randhawa said, "The main accused in the case — Gurtej Singh, Avtar Singh and Amrik Singh — are still far from police custody. The govt has also failed to determine where the explosive material used in the blast was procured from.""Punjab did not witness such a devastating blast in the last 25 years, where so many people lost their lives simultaneously. Despite the seriousness of the case, no thorough investigation has been carried out so far, and govt agencies have completely failed to uncover the truth," said the Congress leader. He further stated, "The govt must clearly explain what action has been taken so far in such a sensitive matter and why the accused are still absconding."MSID:: 130993357 413 |
