Shimla: A cabinet sub-committee headed by revenue minister
Jagat Singh Negi on Thursday decided to place the proposed policy for regularising land occupation by small and marginal farmers before the state cabinet for consideration and approval.
Education minister Rohit Thakur attended the meeting, where members were informed that a policy framework had been prepared in accordance with the Supreme Court's directions regarding the regularisation of land occupied by small and marginal farmers.
After detailed deliberations, the committee resolved to forward the proposal to the state cabinet. Once approved by the cabinet, the policy will be sent to the central govt for further action.
Negi said the initiative is aimed at providing relief to small and marginal farmers by addressing land occupation issues through a structured and legally compliant mechanism. He added that the proposed policy was framed in line with the directions of the apex court.
