Honeytrap case: Ambala village resident held sharing military, air force information with Pakistan-based module

AMBALA: Acting on the specific input from the intelligence agencies, the crime investigation agency (CIA)-II of Ambala police arrested a resident of a village in the district for sharing military and air force information with a Pakistan-based module.Ambala SP Ajit Singh Shekhawat said that the accused has been identified as Sunil Kumar of Sabga village in Ambala district, who was arrested on Friday. He was produced before the district court in Ambala on Saturday, which granted his four-day police remand for further interrogation.The district police have registered a case against Sunil under Section 152 (acts endangering the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India) of the BNS at Ambala Cantonment police station.SP Shekhawat said, "Sunil Kumar worked as a supervisor of construction work allotted to a private firm at Ambala Cantonment’s defence area. He was issued an admission card by the military authorities to enter the defence area for working in the construction area. He came in contact with a Pakistan-based module in the case of a honeytrap, through social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp and a Buddy App. He was in contact with the module for about seven to eight months."To a query, SP Shekhawat said, "We received specific intelligence input about his activity and based on the same, he was interrogated, and upon checking his phone, incriminating matter was found. Sunil was sharing basic information about the movement of military units to the Pakistan-based module. Further investigation is being done."
