Farmer organisations burnt effigies of BJP, Pb governor

Bathinda: Angry over police denying them entry into Chandigarh on Friday to hand over a memoranda to Punjab governor Gulab Chand Kataria, farm organisations burnt effigies of the BJP and Punjab governor in some villages on Saturday.The activists stated that they wanted to talk about adequate representation of Punjab in Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) and adjudication of inter-state waters as per riparian law and various, but the police not only stopped them from entering Chandigarh, but used water cannons and tear gas shells to forcibly stop them.
