Farmer electrocuted near Indo-Pak border in Fazilka
Fazilka: A farmer, who went to cultivate his land situated across the India-Pakistan international border fence near Muhar Khiwa Mansa village in the Fazilka district, was electrocuted after coming in contact with high-voltage power lines.The Border Security Force personnel rushed the injured farmer to the hospital.Bittu Singh, the injured farmer's son, said their family owned approximately nine acres of land on the other side of the international border fencing, where they go daily for farming activities."Today, like other days, my father went to the fields to work. While attempting to connect wires to a transformer to operate a tube-well motor pump, he suddenly came into contact with a high-voltage power line and sustained severe burns," said Bittu Singh.The bystanders and BSF personnel in the vicinity immediately rushed to the injured farmer's aid and transported him to the hospital.Dr Karan, a physician stationed at the Fazilka Civil Hospital, said the farmer had suffered a severe electric shock, resulting in burns across a significant portion of his body.
