4 Pakistanis repatriated via Attari border

Amritsar: Four Pakistani civilian prisoners were repatriated through the Attari–Wagah border on Tuesday after completing their sentences and due legal formalities.The four — Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Raza, Mohammad Hamza and Hussain — had served jail terms in India, ranging from six months to nearly 10 years, before being handed over to Pakistani authorities under tight security.Officials said all documentation and verification processes were completed at the Attari border prior to the handover.One of the released prisoners, Mohammad Hamza, said he had inadvertently crossed into Indian territory while under the influence of drugs and was subsequently arrested. He added that his family remained unaware of his whereabouts during his incarceration.The men expressed relief at returning home and thanked the Indian government, calling the move a humanitarian gesture. They also urged youth to stay away from drugs, saying substance abuse had led to their ordeal.
