23-yr-old man dies of ‘drug overdose’ in Mandi Gobindgarh

Patiala: A 23-year-old man has died of a suspected drug overdose in Mandi Gobindgarh in Fatehgarh Sahib district. The deceased is survived by parents and two sisters.According to family members, the victim battled drug addiction for a long time and returned home only a few days ago after undergoing treatment at a de-addiction centre.The victim's father said the family received a phone call informing them that their son was lying unconscious near a park in Mandi Gobindgarh. When the family reached the spot, they found an injection lying near him.The victim was rushed to the civil hospital in Amloh but could not be saved. Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and took the body into custody.The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, said the police.
