School teacher killed in bike collision in Sundargarh
Rourkela: A 45-year-old govt school teacher died in a head-on collision between two motorcycles near Tikilipada under Kutra police station limits in Sundargarh district on Tuesday evening. His post-mortem was conducted on Wednesday before the body was handed over to the family.The deceased was identified as Sanjul Kumar Talwar, a resident of Kanheimunda village and a teacher at a govt primary school in Jhirpani.Police said Talwar was returning home after conducting a ULLAS (Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society) survey when his motorcycle collided with a speeding bike carrying three youths coming from the opposite direction. Talwar suffered grievous injuries and was rushed to Kutra Community Health Centre (CHC), where he was declared brought dead.The three youths also suffered injuries. One of them was referred to Rourkela Govt Hospital, while the other two are undergoing treatment at Kutra CHC.On being alerted, Kutra police reached the spot and seized both motorcycles. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.“We have registered a case and are investigating,” said S Biswal, sub-inspector of Kutra police station.Talwar is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
