Shivraj, CM Yadav to launch rural road projects under PMGSY-IV in Sehore today
Bhopal: Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and chief minister Mohan Yadav and will jointly inaugurate the state-level programme under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-IV and the PM JANMAN Scheme in Bhairunda, Sehore district, on Sunday, May 10.
The event will formally launch PMGSY-IV and PM JANMAN projects in Madhya Pradesh, aimed at strengthening rural infrastructure and connectivity across the state.
Under PMGSY-IV, 963 roads covering a total length of 2,117 kilometres will be constructed in Madhya Pradesh at a cost of over Rs 1,763 crore. The project is expected to benefit 987 rural habitations, improving access to transport, education, healthcare and local trade.
In Sehore district alone, 81 roads spanning 209 kilometres will be built at a cost of Rs 165 crore, directly benefiting 84 habitations and improving last-mile connectivity in rural areas.
Officials and representatives from several states and Union Territories, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Assam, Odisha, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and others, are expected to participate in the Bhairunda programme.
MP panchayat and rural development minister Prahlad Singh Patel, Union ministers of state Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and Kamlesh Paswan, along with other public representatives and senior officials, will also attend the event.
