Bhopal: Chief minister Mohan Yadav announced on Monday the establishment of an Engineers' Research and Training Institute in Madhya Pradesh aimed at enhancing the efficiency of engineers through training in modern technologies and advanced work methods.
Speaking at a state-level event commemorating Engineers' Day, observed on the birth anniversary of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, Yadav praised PM Modi's initiatives such as PM Gati Shakti, which have inspired engineers and uplifted their morale during challenging projects. He highlighted the achievements of Indian engineers, citing landmark infrastructure projects like the Chenab bridge as examples of engineering excellence.
During the event held at at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre, CM Yadav also inaugurated two major digital platforms for the public works department: the Public Works Survey app and the Public Project Management System. Additionally, he released the department's newsletter, showcasing its achievements, schemes, and innovations.
Engineers and contractors from the public works department (PWD) were honored for their exceptional contributions to quality and excellence in work. Public works minister Rakesh Singh also addressed the gathering, emphasising ongoing infrastructure reforms and modernisation in the state.
