Bhopal: A routine traffic checking drive in Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district took a dramatic turn after a woman climbed onto the bonnet of a police jeep to protest against action taken on her brother’s motorcycle.The incident occurred on Tuesday evening during a vehicle inspection drive being carried out near the SDOP office in Karera. According to police, the woman had arrived at the spot along with her brother on a motorcycle that was stopped for routine checking.During inspection, authorities allegedly found multiple traffic violations. The motorcycle was reportedly being ridden without a number plate and had a modified silencer emitting loud, firecracker-like sounds. The rider was also allegedly not wearing a helmet.Following the violations, police-initiated action to issue a traffic challan and reportedly impounded the motorcycle. This led to an argument between the woman and police personnel at the spot.The woman suddenly climbed onto the bonnet of the police vehicle and sat there in protest, drawing the attention of passersby and leading to a crowd gathering at the scene.
Witnesses said the unusual protest created chaos for some time as officials attempted to calm the situation.After repeated persuasion by police personnel, the woman eventually climbed down, allowing the situation to normalise and the traffic drive to continue.Meanwhile, bystanders recorded videos of the incident on their mobile phones, which later surfaced online and went viral on social media.
