Woman dies after falling from moving train near Bareilly
Bareilly: A 35-year-old woman died after falling from a moving train while returning to Bareilly from Budaun on Thursday. Police on Friday said preliminary investigation suggests the incident may have been accidental, despite initial allegations of foul play.Govt Railway Police (GRP) SHO Atul Sharma said Rukhsana, was travelling with a man, Saddam, on Kasganj-Ramnagar passenger train when the incident took place. On information, Bareilly City station superintendent alerted GRP and a team reached the spot. The body was severed into two parts after being run over by the train, and was sent for autopsy.Rukhsana's family had initially alleged that Saddam pushed her from the train following an argument. Police sources confirmed the two reportedly had a dispute during the journey over drinking water. "As of now, there is no evidence to suggest foul play. The woman appears to have fallen from the train accidentally during an altercation," Sharma said.The GRP SHO added that Rukhsana had been living with Saddam, a resident of Mainpuri district, in a rented house in Subhash Nagar area of Bareilly for nearly a year. The two allegedly earned their livelihood by begging on trains. Rukhsana had earlier divorced her husband, Irfan, and her two children currently reside with their maternal relatives.
