Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has purchased a 2.67-acre land parcel in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, for Rs 35 crore from real estate developer House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), marking his latest investment in the temple city, reported PTI.In a statement on Friday, HoABL said the transaction was executed by Rajesh Yadav, Managing Director of AB Corp Ltd, the company associated with Bachchan.

The land parcel is located near HoABL’s 75-acre luxury land development project ‘The Sarayu’ in Ayodhya.This marks Bachchan’s third investment in Ayodhya through HoABL and his fourth investment overall in the region.Earlier, in January 2024, Bachchan had purchased land parcels in the developer’s ‘The Sarayu’ project. He has also invested in HoABL’s ‘Sol de Alibaug’ project, acquiring a 10,000 sq ft plot there.Commenting on the investment, Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of HoABL, said: "Mr Bachchan's investment reflects a shared belief in land as an inter-generational asset that preserves value over the long term. Faith in Ayodhya is a legacy shared by generations."He added that Ayodhya is increasingly emerging as a strong destination for long-term land ownership and value creation, driven by sustained infrastructure development and public investment.
Founded in 2020, HoABL focuses on branded land developments and aims to transform land ownership through transparency, technology and trust.The company said it has sold more than 13 million sq ft of developed land within five years and currently has around 34 million sq ft under active development.HoABL currently operates in locations including Alibaug, Anjarle, Ayodhya, Vrindavan, Dapoli, Goa, Khopoli, Nagpur and Neral, and plans to launch projects in Amritsar, Shimla and Varanasi.The developer also aims to expand to 48 cities across India, targeting demand for plotted developments in infrastructure-driven and tourism-focused destinations.It has also recently entered vertical real estate development, with three projects in Mumbai covering about 3.1 million sq ft.
