19-year-old bride-to-be and youth found hanging in UP's Shahjahanpur

SHAHJAHANPUR: A day before her wedding, a 19-year-old woman and a youth were found hanging from a tree in a field in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district, police said on Wednesday.The bodies of Nanhi Yadav (19) and Somendra Yadav (19), both residents of Kuberpur village under the Paraur police station area, were discovered outside the village, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Diksha Bhavare said."Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide," Bhavare said.Police reached the spot after receiving information and later identified the deceased. The woman’s wedding was scheduled for May 7, with the ‘baarat’ expected to arrive the next day.Bhavare said the families have not yet shared any details about the circumstances leading to the incident."The exact reason behind the deaths is a matter of investigation. We are probing the case from all angles," she added.The bodies have been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination, police said.
