Sambhajinagar ZP tops state in creation of unique IDs

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Acting on the instructions of state govt, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar zilla parishad (ZP) started creating Unique Identification (UIDs) for its properties and different public assets and so far 4,030 UIDs have been created.With this, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar ZP is on top of the list across the state. Additional CEO of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar ZP, Vasudeo Solanke, on Monday said the local self-governing body has around 10,000 properties for which UIDs need to be generated. "The planning department of state govt has decided to assign UIDs to all state-owned properties in the state. From now on, administrative approvals for works involving these assets will not be granted without a UID," he said.Solanke added that properties such as roads, schools, anganwadis, health centres, and dams, among others will now have a UID. The ZP owns many important assets including 2,090 schools, 2,651 anganwadis, 1,947 cement check dams, 1,885 rural roads, 279 health sub-centres, 123 veterinary clinics, 613 percolation tanks, 892 Kolhapuri type weirs, 141 other district roads, 248 pilgrimage sites, 63 primary health centres and 43 irrigation tanks along with different buildings. "Once an asset is assigned a UID, an online database is created with detailed information, including the date of sanctioning, construction, completion, commissioning and the sources of funds used. The information will be vital for different works and put a check on malpractices," Solanke said.
