According to officials, the blast originated from a two-wheeler parked outside the boundary wall of the BSF–Army campus, located across the road leading to Attari-Wagah international border. The sudden detonation in close proximity to a high-security installation has put agencies on high alert.Police BSF and Army teams rushed to the spot within minutes of receiving the information. The entire area has been cordoned off, and security was intensified amid fears of a larger threat.Forensic experts and a dog squad were deployed to comb the site for evidence. Preliminary findings suggest that the impact of the explosion damaged tin sheets fixed on the outer wall of the campuses .
The security officials are however tight-lipped over the details of the incident.Police officials have refrained from disclosing further information, stating that a clearer picture will emerge only after a thorough investigation.Meanwhile, heavy police deployment continues in the area, with round-the-clock surveillance in place as agencies work to determine the nature , forces behind the blast and intent behind the explosion. The Senior Superintendent of Police (Amritsar Rural), Sohail Qasim Mir, said that the police received information about a loud noise heard around 11 pm on May 5.
