Criminal injured in encounter
Prayagraj: A wanted criminal, carrying a cash reward of Rs 25,000 was injured and arrested in a police encounter in Kaushambi on Saturday night.
A senior cop said a team of Manjhanpur police was conducting routine checks near Santoo Ka dera , Hanzapur Road when they noticed a suspicious man roaming to execute a crime.
The cops surounded him but he opened fire. The police retaliated and left the criminal injured in exchange of fire.
Police said Raees, a resident of Turtipur of Kaushambi, has 11 criminal cases pending against him in Kaushambi and other districts. He was involved in cattle smuggling and theft cases.
