Agra: A 50-year-old transporter from Agra was allegedly beaten to death by his business partner and the latter's relatives on Sunday morning following a dispute over financial dealings, said police.Balmukund Dubey had reached a godown in Firozabad around 4 am to unload a truck carrying goods from Agra. His friend Shankar was also with him.In her police complaint, Balmukund's wife, Rupam, alleged that his business partner Gajendra Singh arrived on a motorcycle along with his sons, Nitin Singh and Ankur Singh, and his brother Pintu Singh and assaulted her husband following an argument.Balmukund was taken to a nearby medical college where he succumbed to his injuries at the trauma centre. Following a complaint by Rupam, a case has been registered at Firozabad police station under BNS section 103(1) (murder) against the four accused.SP (City) Ravi Shankar Prasad said three teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused. "They will be arrested soon and strict legal action will follow. Investigation is underway," he said.Police said preliminary inquiries revealed that Balmukund and Gajendra had been partners for nearly three decades.
While Gajendra managed the Firozabad office of Jai Maa Bhavani Transport, Balmukund oversaw operations in Agra.Rupam told police that relations between them soured in recent months after Gajendra allegedly began siphoning off a significant portion of the profits. Because of this issue, Balmukund had started unloading Agra consignments through another transport company, she added.
